After winning the World Series last year (and what a series it was! I'll remember that forever!!), I didn't think the Cubs would be in a position this year to get back to post-season play to defend their title. They certainly didn't start the season off on a good foot. Even midway through it didn't look good for the Cubs. It was as if they just floated most of the season. But then came September, and the Cubs put on that end-of-the-regular-season push and began to pull away from the pack. Hadn't seen them do that since last year. So, here they are closing the season on a 7-3 win streak, extending their lead in their division by 6 games and pushing their record to 92-70.

Gotta hand it to 'em. They've impressed me again. And I'm once again excited about baseball (though I have to admit I'm a bandwagon fan at this point. Even after the Cubs won the big game last year, I didn't think they'd have a chance to repeat since a few of their star players left. But I get their was enough pride in those who remained to remain competitive and challenge for a chance to defend their title. And that's worth renewing my Cubs fan membership again.)

Might want to hop on the Indians bandwagon this year. They are even better than last seaon.

Nope...staying with this Cubs' gravy train until the wheels fall off. They pulled off another fabulous upset last night taking down the Washington Nationals in a 9-8 thriller. That 4-run hiccup by the Nationals at the top of the 5th hurt 'em, but it was good to see the opposing team have a poorly timed melt down when they were leading in a playoff game instead of the Cubs for a change.

This victory was sweet because IMO every championship team should return to the big game to defend their title. So, GO CUBS!
